Is PBMA, Inc. biblical?

PBMA, Inc stands for Philippine Benevolent Missionaries Association, Inc.. Its main office is in San Jose, Dinagat Islands, formerly a part of Surigao del Norte province. Its founder is Ruben Edera Ecleo, Sr., regarded as the mystical person in the southern Philippines during the Marcos regime.

I anticipate that you already have a good research about this civic and religious organization in which I am a bonafide member by the influence of our parents. I am yearning for your immediate help through your assessment, being bible experts, if the said association is truly leading us to our spiritual salvation, the way we tend to believe based on its seemingly Christian teachings.

I had to research this organisation as this is the first time I have heard of them.

While they aim to serve globally in charitable ways by connecting people of different faiths, fundamentally they are not a Christian organisation because their spiritual teachings are a ‘mixture of Christian, Buddhism, Hinduism, Judaism and Akashic doctrines.’ In addition, their members are ‘advised to take the teachings of PBMA as additional source of spiritual learning, nourishment and enlightenment.’ As Christians, we know that the Bible alone is the true source of God’s Word (2 Timothy 3:16).

This organisation claims that their founder, the Divine Master Ruben Edera Ecleo Senior, ‘happened to be present in many places at the same time, cured many people even without seeing and touching them, and he taught and transferred his healing power to millions of his followers, which is a quality of a “god.” Three (3) days after he died, he manifested himself to over thousands of his followers.’ His followers also claim that he is their ‘King of all Kings’, ‘Lord of all Lords’, and the ‘Master of the Universe’. Only the Son of God, Jesus Christ, is the true King of kings and Lord of lords (Revelation 17:14 and Revelation 19:16).

In conclusion, this organisation cannot be considered as biblical since its teachings are based upon a number of false religions instead of the Bible alone. Most alarmingly though is their ‘god’ like belief of their founder and his divine position within their organisation.
