What does it mean that a person will not inherit the kingdom of God?

1 Corinthians 6:9 - 11

ESV - 9 Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality. 10 Nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.

If you read First Corinthians 15:50 it explains the reason all of those sins in us can not inherit the kingdom of God. Flesh and blood can not inherit the kingdom of God, but only our spirit which is made perfect without the flesh. So even though we commit those sins, the spirit is saved.

Our old nature and our flesh and blood can not be saved. Now we ought not to be living in those sins as God does chasten those He loves. But even though we do, our spirit is still saved in the day of the Lord.

It is one of the reasons that we can never be lost. Our spirit is saved forever, but the sinful flesh and blood has to die.

If you read about all the sins of the Corinthians, how they were living in fornication, drunkenness, and many other sins, but Paul called them brothers in Christ. He even said the one who was living with his fathers wife was saved.

He said if he did not repent, he would turn him over to Satan so that his body would be killed, but his spirit would be saved in the day of the Lord. He would lose his reward in heaven, and lose his life, but he could not lose his salvation.

When a believer falls in to great sin, and does not repent, then we become useless to God and He will take us out of the world. But, we can never lose our salvation because Jesus paid for all those sins too.

Now the man did repent and was welcomed back in to fellowship in the church. Corinth was a very sinful city with prostitutes everywhere, and Paul warned them against sinning against their own body by going to them. He said they were joining the Lord to a prostitute.

No one can truly tell if another person is saved or not. Just because a person professes to be a believer does not make him one. It is only those that have accepted Christ as their savior are saved and can never be lost. Just because a preacher preaches does not mean he is saved and has accepted Christ as his savior.

Whatever we do, let us do it or talk as Christians, and weigh our talk and actions considering who we are in this world.

This is because we are witnessing for Christ our savior. We must be careful not do sin, struggle but remember that we are ambassadors thus reflect the image of GOD who we serve in this world. Otherwise, without listening to our inner person (holy spirit) we can not please our God. Always as christians, let us be indwelled by the holy spirit to over come sins.
