Should a man be denied the office of a deacon because his wife divorces him for no biblical reason?

1 Timothy 3:2 states that a man should be the husband of only one wife. I almost died in a car wreck 7 years ago. I survived a traumatic brain injury. My wife divorced me because she did not want to be married to me when I became disabled and unemployed. The only reason she divorced me was for her own convenience.

I am active in several different ministries in my church and I have done special jobs for the pastor when he asked me. I may want to run for deacon sometime in the future. Am I eligible by the Bible to serve as a deacon?

1 Timothy 3:2

KJV - 2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach.
