No, I do not believe that a person who is a homosexual could also be a Christian, that is, one who believes and obeys the teachings of the Bible (John 14:15, 14:21) and believe that Jesus died for his or her sins. If a true Christian eventually becomes a homosexual after they became saved, they would repent of their sin at some point in their lives. If a person claims to be a Christian but continues in their sinful lifestyle and never repents, it could be an indication they were never truly saved. Christians are not required to keep the Law of Moses (Romans 6:14) however, Christians are not to disobey the moral laws, many of which are also mentioned in the New Testament (Romans 2:21-22; 13:9; 1 Corinthians 6:910; 2 Corinthians 12:21; Ephesians 5:3-7; Galatians 5:19-21; Colossians 3:5-9; etc.) This is what the Apostle Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 6:9-11: 9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, 10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God. (1 Corinthians 6:9-11, NKJV) Notice that the Apostle Paul wrote that those who are idolaters, adulterers, homosexuals, thieves, drunkards, etc. Will not inherit the kingdom of God (verse 9-10), that is, those who do these things are not true believers and are not saved. Those who are truly saved would not desire to do these things, as the Apostle Paul mentions in the next verse (1 Corinthians 6:11). The Apostle Paul wrote in Romans 1: 27 Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the women, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due. 28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; 29 being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousnesses … 32 who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them. (Romans 1:27-29, NKJV) Romans 1:18-32 explains that those who live in sexual lifestyles, such as homosexuality (men lusting after other men (verse 27)) are living unrighteous, ungodly, lifestyles. Christians are not perfect, however, when Christians do sin, as soon as they realize they have sinned, they are to confess their sin to God and repent of it and do their best not to sin again. If a person who claims to be a Christian but does not realize they are sinning, they need to read their Bible. The Apostle John wrote: 5 This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. 6 If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. 8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us. (1 John 1:8-10, NKJV) Those who walk in darkness are not living as God commands and are most likely not saved. One who desires to live as they please and disobey God’s commands cannot really claim that Jesus is their Lord and master, as they are living for themselves and not for God.
