What is the interpetation of the statue seen by the king and Daniel with his three buddies?

The fact of the statue in Daniel is called a vision from God given to the king and Daniel and his three buddies. However the statment Daniel makes is the interperation is his and the three. Could it be this is God's work not the king, and in that case it describes what is to be begin with Israel in captivity in Babylon? Could this be the order of the time the Messiah would appear and the Church Era would begin and end with the second coming?

Daniel 1:1 - 21

ESV - 1 In the third year of the reign of Jehoiakim king of Judah, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came to Jerusalem and besieged it. 2 And the Lord gave Jehoiakim king of Judah into his hand, with some of the vessels of the house of God. And he brought them to the land of Shinar, to the house of his god, and placed the vessels in the treasury of his god.
