When the 'Rulers and Authorities' of this world engage in criminal activities, should we continue to obey and submit to them?

Romans 13:1 - 5

KJV - 1 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. 2 Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.

We are to submit the the authorities to the degree that we are not asked or forced to do anything that is against the will of our God and our Father. What the leaders does not have a bearing on what we are to do. As Jesus said render unto Ceasar the things that are Caesar's and to the God the things that are God's.

When Paul wrote about being subject to the civil authorities Nero was Caesar and there was probably on one morally as corrupt as he.

Romans 13:1 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.

In doing what Paul says here we pay our taxes and obey the laws of the land as long as they do not come in conflict with the will of God for us.
