What did God mean when he said to David, "When you hear a sound of marching in the tops of the mulberry trees, then you shall go to the battle"?

1 Chronicles 14:15

ESV - 15 And when you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the balsam trees, then go out to battle, for God has gone out before you to strike down the army of the Philistines.

Great question, Riza! I was fascinated by this when I first read it. God is on our side! With Him on our side like this, how can we fail? With God on our side like this, how can we lose? - The Message

It's hard to wait, is it not, Riza? It is VERY HARD to wait -- at least it is for me, but God's timing is perfect every time! King Saul had to learn that the hard way in the book of Samuel. Christians can claim the Divine Presence. Non-Christians cannot. They cannot say that God is on their side; we can.

It would be a wise tarrying. A wise tarrying to wait for “a sound of going.”

It would be the sign or sound of the Divine Presence.

God promised David that the sound would indicate that God was going “before thee” (into battle). It was a signal for duty!
