Was it 'changing the law' for Darius for Daniel to release Daniel after he had spent the night in the lion's den?

Even the king of the Medes and Persians could not change the king's law, hence why Darius had to throw Daniel into the lion's den. But how was it not changing the law to later release Daniel?

Daniel 6:1 - 28

KJV - 1 It pleased Darius to set over the kingdom an hundred and twenty princes, which should be over the whole kingdom. 2 And over these three presidents; of whom Daniel was first: that the princes might give accounts unto them, and the king should have no damage.
