What is "Death with Dignity"? Is it acceptable under special circumstances?

Suicide is not acceptable, yes. But in regards to the recent suicide of Brittany Maynard, does not it sound cruel to insist that one should bear the pain of a terminal illness no matter how terrific the pain is?

Job 36:5,6 "God is mighty, but does not despise men; he is mighty, and firm in his purpose. He does not keep the wicked alive but gives the afflicted their rights.

The meaning of this in my opinion, is that God is the only one that has the decision to end one's life. He did not tell Job that he could end his life, when he endured all the suffering. God reminds his followers time and time again, that they need to push through the pain, regardless of the circumstances.
