I want to comment on this wonderful verse because I feel this call to enter into the presence of God is more than just a "noise". In light of scripture starting in the old testament the priest had to be clean, and also the people before coming into the presence of God. How can we praise the "rock of our salvation" if we do not know him as Savior?
That is the "purpose and foundation" of the joyful noise. Verses 6-11 tells us how we are able to make an "acceptable" noise to God. John 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. God is not "hard-up" for just "noise". Scripture teaches us that "after a conversion" the recipient went away "rejoicing and praising" God. I can only offer an acceptable "joyful noise" unto God, when I present my body a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto God. Rom. 12:1 daily. I appreciate this site where there is an opportunity to grow in scriptual knowledge from all. God bless.
