Revelations 22:2. The tree of life symbolizes our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ. We are the branches, and leaves are found on branches. As we abide in the vine, we become salt of the earth and we become leaves of healing to the dying and lost world. Is 58 :11-12. May The Lord help the Church to take her rightful place upon the earth. May we be answers to questions and troubles that men face.

I believe this question is best looked at when one is looking by Faith into Eternity Future. If one would is humble and seeking of the Scriptures the Lord has revealed logically "what healing" the Nations will need.

Our Divine Heavenly Father is a Just, Logical and Equitable God. His measurements are sure. He expects a separated people that will Worship Him freely because they Love Him. His reward for this is immeasurable. Yet, Jesus attempted to describe it in the parable of the sower.

Some of the Word fell on Good Ground and brought forth grain, 30 fold, 60 fold, 100 fold. Matt 13:23 (I believe that someone mentioned there were different levels of Resurrection. However, God is PERFECT, The Resurrection will not raise us to anything less than Perfect as He is!) 1Thes 4:13-18
The higher the increase of grain, exemplifies the more the individual was in love with the Word...Who/What is the Word? John 1:14, Jesus, Himself. So, the Father will be looking at who among the Saved Christians are most in Love with Jesus His Son.
Jesus said, He would look at individuals in that great day of Judgment and say, I never KNEW you!.. or I never had a personal relationship with you! Matt 7:22-23,

What does this have to do with leaves and healing? Everything! Jesus Christ, the Tree of Life, working through the Branches of those individuals that loved Him the MOST, the 100 fold, will give forth their leaves to heal the Nations of Peoples that are not in the complete oneness relationship with Jesus, their Creator, Master, Owner, to the Glory of the Father.
Phil 2:9-11,

What healing will they need? Let's think about it for a moment. In this thing called "Time", a person wasted these precious moments worrying about what their neighbor thought about them, what their boss thought, or their kids. They put everyone before God and His Son. However, in God's Mercy, they did accept Jesus into their heart before they met Jesus as their Judge. What kind of healing will this person need when they see what they wasted? What they could have had? Had they applied themselves in the LORD? The Bible says that God will have to wipe their tears away! Why? They will be weeping for their own choices! Rev 7:17

What a beautiful thing it will be to have a soft leaf from the Tree of Life to come wrap around this person and say "I still Love you." "I forgive you" "surrender completely to Me" "I created you for My pleasure" (All the things Jesus longs to whisper to us now if we but listen to His voice!)
How lovely this will be to the Nations. What Peace will flood that precious soul!

The Scripture shall be fulfilled. Every knee shall bow. Every tongue shall confess. This will only happen when they are healed with the Leaves from the Tree of Life, Jesus Christ, God's Only Son.

Be Blessed,
Lena

Philippians 3:21 "who will change our vile body that it may be fashioned like unto His glorious body".....I think this means we will be whole and complete.

Notes For Verse 1
a [river of water of life] Besides the 12 great rivers flowing down the midst of the 12 great broadways going through the 12 gates into all parts of the earth, there will be innumerable fountains of water of life throughout the city and many lakes and rivers in the earth (Rev. 22:1-2; 7:17; 14:7; note, Rev. 21:1).

Notes For Verse 2
a [In the midst of the street] This is a description of only one of the great broadways going through one of the 12 great gates (Rev. 21:21; 22:1-2).

b [on either side of the river] On both sides of all the 12 great rivers flowing for 1,500 miles through the 12 great broadways there will be rows of trees of life, each row being 1,500 miles long, as described in Rev. 22:2.

c [healing of the nations] Preservation of life for the natural, earthly nations, as well as for the resurrected saints (Rev. 2:7; 22:2). There will be no sickness, so no healing from disease, but eternal health and life will come from the leaves of the trees (Rev. 21:4; 22:2-21; cp. Gen. 3:22-24).

Notes For Verse 3
a [no more curse] There will be no more of the curse that came as a result of Lucifer and Adam's rebellion. Conditions as before will prevail eternally and things will continue as if the curse had never been. All rebels will be confined to the lake of fire as an eternal monument of God's wrath on sin and as a warning to coming generations in all eternity that sin does not pay. The New Heaven and New Earth and the new peoples will be the same ones we have today only in a new state. All things will be made new, not new things will be made to take the place of the old (Rev. 21:5; 22:3).

b [servants shall serve him] The servants will be the faithful angels, redeemed people, and all other creatures that have not rebelled or that have been redeemed from all possibility of rebellion in all eternity (Eph. 1:10; 1Cor. 15:24-28).

Notes For Verse 4
a [they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads] All creatures of the eternal state will actually look upon God's face and His name shall be in their foreheads, as in Rev. 3:12; 7:1-8; 9:4; 14:1. They shall reign and help God administer the affairs of the universe forever (Rev. 22:5; 1:6; 5:10; Dan. 7:18,27; Zech. 14:5; 1Cor. 6:1-2; 2Tim. 2:12; etc.).

One possible solution to this question involves Heb. 11:35 "...others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection."

Perhaps there are differences in resurrections. The heroes of the faith obtain the best resurrection, that is, the most perfect body in which they continue on without any loss of memory or other functions they had before they died. The less perfect resurrections have less perfect bodies, which apparently may be ultimately subject to infirmities, ailments, etc. Which can be healed by the leaves of the tree of life. This does not mean that the diseases we commonly experience now will be necessarily present at that time.

The New Jerusalem reigns over the nations existing outside (Rev 21:24), which are apparently only of the lesser resurrections. Besides having symbolical value, the tree of life is an actual physical tree species not existing on earth now, but will exist later after the New Jerusalem descends to earth.
