What does Paul mean by "according to my gospel" in 2 Timothy 2:8 and in Romans 2:16?

2 Timothy 2:8

ESV - 8 Remember Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, the offspring of David, as preached in my gospel.

I understand the word "gospel". It is the phrase "according to my gospel" (i.e. "according to Paul's gospel") that confuses me.

For example,

2 Timothy 2:8 King James Version (KJV)

8 Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my gospel:

In the above verse, Paul was not even a Christian when Jesus Christ was raised from the dead on the third day.

Late answer, but Paul, writing in Galatians 1:7-9, expresses surprise that they had begun to believe another gospel that he said was ‘no gospel at all’, indicating there were some preaching a gospel that was based on works and not on faith.

He has very strong words for anyone preaching a gospel other than the one he had preached there.

So, my guess is he wanted to distinguish his gospel from the fake stuff that was going around at the time.

Also, Paul wasn’t among the original apostles who had met the Lord physically. In Galatians 2 he explains how he received his gospel from the Lord by direct revelation and went to check it out with the apostles years later.
