Why did God choose to speak creation into existence rather than making it some other way?

Is there a particular reason or purpose for Him using words rather than some other means to create everything?

Genesis 1:3

NLT - 3 Then God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.

Interestingly enough, the field of quantum mechanics has shown to a high degree of empirical success that everything 'real' or seemingly 'material' is, at the smallest quantum levels, simply vibrations and vortices of energy. That which is seen is made of the unseen (Heb 11:3). 'Sound' is a type of vibration.

That might not answer the 'why', but it certainly seems that sound/vibration is an excellent way to create a universe for an omnipotent, omniscient being.

"A fundamental conclusion of the new physics also acknowledges that the observer creates the reality. As observers, we are personally involved with the creation of our own reality. Physicists are being forced to admit that the universe is a “mental” construction. Pioneering physicist Sir James Jeans wrote: “The stream of knowledge is heading toward a non-mechanical reality; the universe begins to look more like a great thought than like a great machine. Mind no longer appears to be an accidental intruder into the realm of matter, we ought rather hail it as the creator and governor of the realm of matter." (R. C. Henry, “The Mental Universe”; Nature 436:29, 2005)

Great quote Jenn!

I also heard once that all you need to get creation out of nothing, is quantum law and vibration...

Of course, they mean Messiach, THE Law of Life, and the word of His power.

So fascinating to see science confirming what was written for millennia.

Check out Cymatics in your free time if you have yet to hear of it. More confirmation of John 1:3, Heb 1:2 and the like.

God bless you!

In the beginning was the word, because the word was greek, and the greek word was logos. Consciousness is what was with God. He spoke the world into existence because a voice has vibrations, which compose the entirety of our universe. Rapidly or slowly, everything vibrates. I love this site for sure, but there are much deeper meanings to be found in the bible than "God spoke it into existence because he knew he'd use words to communicate with humans" (lol). All the mistranslations don't help in deciphering the real meaning. Like we're not made in his "image" we're made in his "likeness" is the more exact translation. We are conscious beings, able to create And destroy. Faith can move mountains. We do it in West Virginia all the time in search of coal. God bless!
