If a sociopath or psychopath does make an attempt to follow "God" then will they be accepted into heaven?

The Bible says that those who are dead in their trespasses and sin will not enter heaven. There are even non-exhaustive lists of the kinds of sinners who will not enter heaven - 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 and Revelation 21:8 are the most direct. But, as the Holy Spirit inspired Paul to remind (us) Christians "Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God." (1 Corinthians 6:11). So, no. God will not accept sociopaths or psychopaths or any other sinner into heaven. Who God DOES bring to heaven are all those who, by placing their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and His finished work on the cross, have been justified by God. These - all who put their faith in Christ - are FORMER sinners who are now CHILDREN of God and HEIRS. (Romans 8) Heaven will be chock full of former sinners, like each of us, who have committed all sorts of sins of varying degrees and frequencies. Salvation - forgiveness of sins, adoption into God's family, and the right to come before God without fear (Heb 4:16) - is based on a recognition of our sin and our agreement with God that we are guilty and deserving of God's punishment (repentance) and our subsequently receiving the free gift of God through the substitutionary death of Jesus in our place on the cross (faith). Now, we all hope that after repentance and receiving by faith the Lord Jesus and therefore having the indwelt Holy Spirit in us, that we would also eschew sinful habits and "flee immorality" (1 Corinthians 6:19). But the truth is, we still live in these corrupted and corruptible bodies (flesh) and we will and do still sin. God deals in a fatherly way (discipline) with His children when we sin (Heb 12:4-11). And God deals in the same merciful and forgiving way He did at the first when we confess our sin.(1 John 1:5-10) See the topic "Do Christians Sin?" on this site for a more in-depth look at Christians and sin (https://www.gotquestions.org/do-Christians-sin.html)
