What would happen "if the dead rise not"? 1 Corinthians 15:16

I observe that "if the dead rise not" is repeated 3 times in this chapter, 1 Corinthians 15.  (vv. 16, 29, and 32). 

What would it be like "if the dead rise not"?

1 Corinthians 15:12 - 34

ESV - ¹² Now if Christ is proclaimed as raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? ¹³ But if there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised.
