What does it mean the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable?

50 Now I say this, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does [p]the perishable inherit [q]the imperishable. 51 Behold, I tell you a mystery; we will not all sleep, but we will all be changed, 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised [r]imperishable, and we will be changed. 53 For this [s]perishable must put on [t]the imperishable, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54 But when this [u]perishable will have put on [v]the imperishable, and this mortal will have put on immortality, then will come about the saying that is written, “Death is swallowed up in victory."

1 Corinthians 15:50 - 54

ESV - 50 I tell you this, brothers: flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. 51 Behold! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed.

V 50 answers your question. Flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God. In other words we gotta die! Our flesh bodies cannot go to heaven nor can they stand before God on Judgment Day. So we have to take on an incorruptible (spiritual) body in order to stand in a spiritual place.
We (our bodies) will be laid in the grave in corruption, but raised on that day in spiritual perfection.
