What was the significance of Moses putting ram's blood onto Aaron's right ear lobe, right thumb, and right big toe?

Moses was doing this during the consecration of Aaron and his sons in the tabernacle:

22 Then he presented the second ram, the ram of [j]ordination, and Aaron and his sons laid their hands on the head of the ram. 23 [k]Moses slaughtered it and took some of its blood and put it on the lobe of Aaron’s right ear, and on the thumb of his right hand and on the big toe of his right foot.

Leviticus 8:22 - 23

NKJV - 22 And he brought the second ram, the ram of consecration. Then Aaron and his sons laid their hands on the head of the ram. 23 And Moses killed it. Also he took some of its blood and put it on the tip of Aaron's right ear, on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot.

The significance of the ram's blood upon the right thumb, right ear lobe and right great toe is on of consecration. As the High Priest of the Israelites Aaron was the mediator for the people between God and man. The blood signified that everywhere he went, everything he did and all that he heard were to be for the LORD's service.

For Christians we can look at this consecration at a type or representation for us, of Jesus' sacrifice and our responsibilities to Him. In everything that we hear, and do and everywhere we go we are to remember that we are bought with the blood of the Lamb of God, Jesus Christ.
